This is another unique slot from IGT that you can find in land-based casinos and their online counterparts. The twist with this one is that the 5 reels each have 8 rows. There are 100 winning lines, and many of the symbols (the wolves in particular) are 2 to 3 symbols deep. Add to this totem pole (native Indian) type symbols which are 5, 6 or even more symbols deep – and you can see there are a lot of winning possibilities with this game.

Extra-long reels mean that the layout is different to regular slots. You’ll find the reels to the left of your screen, with the controls and options on the right. Graphics are beautifully produced, putting older wolf-based titles (for example Wild Wolf) to shame. There are several colours of wolf on the reels. The soundtrack is also a step up from the earlier games. You get a drum based track, and the distant howl of wolves to add some atmosphere. This music becomes more intense and lively during the bonus round, when the graphics switch to night-time.

The black and the white wolves are worth 500 coins for 5, while the tan and grey wolves 250. The remaining winning symbols are the playing cards, which are ace down to nine.

The remaining symbol is the bonus, which has a lizard on it. This appears on the centre reels only. 3 of these initiate the free spins bonus, and also pay you 2x your total bet amount for that spin.

When you trigger the 5 free spins you are sent to a new set of reels. The symbols are the same, only the backdrop is night – with dark backgrounds and a different coloured totem pole. Other than the fact that you can retrigger, there is nothing different about this bonus round than the main game. The wins are the same and I did not notice any increase in the number of wolves or stacked wilds.
